Justin Putnam of the San Marcos Police Department in Texas was shot dead Saturday night after responding to a call of assault and domestic disturbance.
2 other officers, Franco Stewart and Justin Muller, are in critical but stable condition following the incident at the Twin Lakes Villas apartment at 2917 Hunter Road. According to the police report, the shooter "ambushed" the rifle personnel before turning the gun on himself. The shooter was injured in the shooting of the suspect.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted, Our hearts are heavy tonight with the report that San Marcos police officers were shot in duty line. Cecilia & me are involved in keeping these officers in our prayers.
